Labor of Love – Purple Lion Paper

Scrapbooking Paper Banner — Today Purple Lion Paper has the great privilege of participating in the “Labor of Love Halloween Blog Hop”.  A list of talented people have each made a halloween-themed scrapbooking banner that will be donated to hang in the rooms of special needs children at Pediatric Specialty Care in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
You are in the right place if  you came from http://californiascrappin-gcinderella21.blogspot.com/ and if you just stopped in and want to start at the beginning, go to Ellen @ www.cardmonkey-business.blogspot.com
Here is the banner that I made out of scrapbooking halloween paper –
Halloween Scrapbook Paper Banner
The scrapbook paper and scrapbook embellishments are all from My Mind’s Eye Blackbird Collection and available at www.purplelionpaper.com
Let me explain some of the easy scrapbooking paper technique I used.

Scrapbooking Banner

A close-up view of the scrapbooking banner shows how I crinkled up a piece of matching paper, rubbed and ruffed up the edge with sandpaper.  I then inked the edges, twisted the paper in the center and placed a scrapbook brad in the center.

As you can see — I used orange twine and used about 6 pieces to make a string for my banner.  This is the same twine I used on another part of the banner.

I also used orange twine on this page and wrapped it around a couple of times on the left side of the page.  Then I added some soft ribbon to create some interest.

Hope you liked our scrapbook layouts for this banner.  Next stop is Sandie @ www.sandieshores.blogspot.com

Have a great day .. Happy scrapping

  • Shannon, first of all, this banner is amazing. I love how it was designed and your choices of paper and color are perfect. I also love the information you provided on how you made the bow on the first panel. I probably would not have noticed that it was paper. That is so clever. This is where it pays to read everything that the blogger writes. So many times I write a lot of things and I know a lot of it is skipped. Thank you for all your good info:) Thank you so much for all your hard work and for helping to make this blog hop a huge success. You ROCK!!
