Drinks & Dreams Scrapbooking Ideas

Scrapbooking Layout Blog Hop

Welcome to Cocktails & DreamsScrapbook Blog Hop … Purple Lion Paper is extremely happy to participate in this fun event put together by Gill.  There are some really great scrapbooking page layouts in this hop.  I have some scrapbook layouts below which I am sure will tempt those taste buds.
Gill said that she loves pina colada and is a big “dreamer”.  All the scrapbook projects in this hop are reflecting what cocktails and dreams you have in your  life…  I decided to use scrapbooking patterned papers and show how I created some of my favorite dreams.  I hope you will like them.
If you would like to start at the very beginning of this blog hop go to Gill’s site at http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com/
If you have come from  Jacki’s site http://cardsbyjacki.blogspot.com then you are at the right place.
I always had a dream to be a great cook.  I always wanted to be able to put together a great meal.   A bunch of my friends are in a scrapbooking recipe club.  One of the things we create in the club is scrapbook pages for drinks …  Here are some of the pages that we have done for our scrapbooking cookbooks.   Hope you like the drink recipes as well … they are all delicious.

Cocktails

This is one of the divider scrapbook pages.  Each cookbook is divided into several catagories (example:  appetizers, drinks, soups, main dish, etc. etc.)
This is an 8″ x 8″ square page using that size album.  Each division has its own tab on the top.    Here is one of the dividers for Drinks …
Drinks can be anything from hot chocolate, lemonade or pina colada.
On this page we used a lot of different scraps of patterned paper.
What I like about this page is the use of all different types of letters to create the word “beverage”.  It gives a fun summer feel to the scrapbook page.

Banana Cocktail

This next scrapbook page layout photo is of a great drink called a Banana Italiano.  It is a really simple drink … but smooth…
On this page my concern was how do I fill a page with such a simple small recipe.  The answer … Lots of movement in the back of the page.
Notice we had lines and dots.  This just keeps the scrapbooking layout moving and you just don’t notice how small the recipe is.  I cut out the face of the monkey from a sheet of corresponding paper and used it as an embellishment.
Also, no more monkey business was a paper embellishment as well.  Hope you like this one.
Bloody Mary Time
Here is another page in the cookbook.  This page uses a lot of stamps.  The girl is a stamp.
The saying on the bottom right is a stamp.
Also, the word “bloody mary” actually was printed off the computer and then mounted on the black paper to create a sign.  Hope you like this one as well.
I hope you will leave me a comment. Sign up for our newsletter to receive notices of upcoming cookbook kit pages … www.purplelionpaper.com

  • Wow! What colourful projects! They’re amazing! And what a fantastic thing to give as a gift to someone! The layouts are really good as your eye goes straight to the recipe, but the backgrounds are so eye catching too!

    Well done!
