Hi Everyone … I hope you enjoy this “Scrap of Information” about journaling.
“Just The Facts Please” Use a journal card and just list what the facts are for the pictures.
“Receipts” Journal with tickets, receipts, bills, maps, brochures. Just think how cute the page would be of the little person with a broken arm if you include the doctor’s bill (reduced on a copy machine) and put it as part of the page … then telling the story through the “receipts” can help bring out the facts and add another dimension to the story.
“Ransom Note” Create a journal section on a page. Cut out words and letters in different fonts, different sizes and some in different colors. Journal with words that fit the subject on the page .. example .. if the photo is of a little boy playing in the sand, use the journal words that relate to the subject .. beach, sun, water, etc. and have them all different fonts/colors/sizes.
“Numbers” Make the journaling a list … Top 10, Best 5, etc. Let the list describe the best or worst things about a place, the top 10 things you like about the subject in the photo.
“News Style” Write a news story explaining the event. Think of how you read an article in the paper and mimic it. Describe facts of the event, an achievement, and what is actually happening in the photos.
Well I hope you have a few new ideas. Before you begin journaling just remember… it doesn’t matter if you are good or bad at it .. it is not a test. Just think of how you would have loved a scrapbook from your great grandmother with pages that have been journaled. Now go and have some fun…
Hope you enjoy my ideas and suggestions… Leave a comment…
